Toronto Math Circles

About Us

Toronto Math Circles is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to introducing bright high school and upper middle school students to interesting topic in mathematics. Topics do not span what is covered in school, rather Math Circles enhances the current curriculum.  This is not a remedial math program - students are expected to have knowledge of the grade 9 Ontario math curriculum in order to understand what is going on at Math Circles.  Students typically find the topics covered at Math Circles beneficial for various Math Competitions.

There are three programs that Math Circles currently runs:

  •  The Saturday program consists of two groups - the Solving Group and the Advanced Solving group.  This runs out of the Fields Institute at the University of Toronto during the academic school year
  • Once a year Toronto Math Circles competes in the ARML competition at Penn State University.   This is the world's largest high school math competition as locations compete on teams of 15 over the course of two days
  • During the summers Toronto Math Circles may run a summer camp depending on demand.  This camp is geared for pre-Math Circles ages (Grades 5 - 8), and runs during the day for a week.

Math Circles is generously sponsored by the Fields Institute.
